I have been a fan of Mickey Rooney since I was a little girl. I am 59 years old now and just had one of the biggest thrills of my life on Sunday July 25th at Mount Airy Casino I finally got to see Mickey Rooney live on stage. I have to tell you I was in tears.I have always felt that he was the greatest talent to come out of Hollywood ever. He has it all.I wished I could have just run up there after the show and given him the biggest hug. Even at almost ninety years old he still has command of the stage. The show was wonderful. He and Jan were delightful to watch and listen to.I would go to see this show again.

Hi Mickey, I wanted to thank you for bringing enjoyment with your movies, I have watched the
Hardy family and never tire of seeing them. Your musicals with Judy Garland, show how
talented you all were. May you and Mrs Rooney {Jan} keep well.

This is a great site. I happened upon it accidentally when trying to search for information on the movie The Strip (1951), which I watched the other day.
Does anyone know if Mickey did his own playing for the movie?

Dear Mickey;

I think you are the greatest entainer that we have ever had. I watch any and all of your movies on TCM. I just saw girl crazy. I know you are a misician, but I did not know you could play the piano like that!!!! WOW The one scene when you are ease dropping on Ginger, and you say to her Happy Birthday in a gruff voice was that an ad lib? Because Judy's look and laugh seems so natural, as does your look and laugh. If it wasn't that proves again how great you are. I really wish there is something I can do for you , like was your car, or take you to dinner to thank you for all you have given to me, and to the world..

For Mickey....

WEEP NOT FOR ME

Do not weep for me when I no longer dwell among the wonders of the earth; for my larger self is free, and my soul rejoices on the other side of pain...on the other side of darkness.

Do not weep for me, for I am a ray of sunshine that touches your skin, a tropical breeze upon your face, the hush of joy within your heart and the innocence of babes in mothers arms.

I am the hope in a darkened night. And, in your hour of need, I will be there to comfort you. I will share your tears, your joys, your fears, your disappointments and your triumphs.

Do not weep for me, for I am cradled
in the arms of God. I walk with the angels, and hear the music beyond the stars.

Do not weep for me, for I am within you;
I am peace, love, I am a soft wind that caresses the flowers. I am the calm that follows a raging storm. I am an autumns leaf that floats among the garden of God, and I am pure white snow that softly falls upon your hand.

Do not weep for me, for I shall never die, as long as you remember me...
with a smile and a sigh.

I feel that Mickey is one of the best NATURAL talents I've ever seen act! Actually...he doesn't seem to be acting. When you watch him...it's as though he's actually living out that scene or movie or whatever the case may be. I've really enjoyed his l...o...n...g body of work. Over the years...he's become part of my family. Mickey...I am proud to call you my friend. God bless you and yours!

By far the greatest talent in Hollywood, bar none!
I will watch any movie that he is in.
Is there anything this man cannot do !
I adore the musicals, of course. He sings, dances, plays instruments. When he acts, the emotion is so real, I believe every word he utters.
I am a movie buff of many years, and even though I have many favorites, when all is said and done, it is Mickey Rooney leading the pack !
Long may you live !

Mickey is just one of the favorite actors of the past. I was born in 1955 & remember the movies I watched on tv through the 1960's on.. Movies from the 30's through to the 70's were very well done the ones in the 4o's-50's I guess I like the most. There is a movie right now on the tv called THE SECRET INVASION & Mickey has a big part in it. Looks to be a very well acted & directed movie !!! Camera work is also super.
Mr & Mrs Mickey Rooney if ya read this remember always that Jesus Christ loves ya & the enemy (satan & demons) hate us. The good part if we ask Christ into our life via a simple prayer from our heart the Holy Spirit of God will come & abide within us !! FREE FOR THE ASKING !!!
Your a speacial guy & actor ...God bless to the both of you.

Dear "Mr. Talent" - Thank you so much for the many years of pleasurable entertainment. When you were on the 'backside' of the tracks, my dad was in your company when he saved you from the demise of a certain goat who had you in his eye with other business in mind. I noted some time ago that I almost share the same birthday (7/3/45) as your son, however I targeted 7/4/45.
Many blessings to you and yours, and thank you again for enriching our entertainment pleasure. - MJ
