Mickey Rooney Comments: I LOVE LOVE LOVE Mickey Rooney. Not only is he an incredible actor, but back in his younger days he was gorgeous! :) He is also still working today, which i find is incredible!! He has been in great classics with the beautiful Judy Garland, and been in some real funny movies like the good ol' Andy Hardy Films. He has worked with other legendary actors (though not as good as him)in the film business. He is just so amazing! There are so many more reasons to why i'm so nuts about him! :)

Comments On Mickey: I was first introduced to the talents and artistry of Mickey Rooney by my grandfather, character actor Charles Middleton, who was best known as Ming the Merciless in the famous Flash Gordon movie serials. Charles, or "Old Pal" as I used to call him, was a close friend of Mickey's father, Joe Yule. Both of those gentlemen were constantly amazed at the young man's versatility, being professional performers themselves. When I became a child actor at the age of six, Mickey became my show business idol, and he still is. During times of depression and anxiety, which this "lovely" business can bring on at any time, all I have to do is put on a Rooney movie, and I'm ready to whip the world again! To this date, I still believe that his greatest performance as a dramatic actor is in "The Human Comedy." Everytime I watch that film, tears always come to my eyes. As far as comedy is concerned, every one of his works is fantastic. Most of our other members have already expressed this same sentiment. Let's face it, the 87 (soon to be 88) year old lad is simply the greatest! I always look forward to running into Mickey and Jan around town, and am proud to receive a Christmas card from them during the holiday season. Mickey does it all, and has proven his amazing talent, time after time. When Joe Yule, Jr. finally leaves this planet and embarks on a new career in another universe, he'll be the darling of that world too. We'll never see the likes of him again. Truly... ONE OF A KIND!!!!

Comments On Mickey: When I was little I could watch the Rooney - Garland - movies over and over again. I loved the sparkling energy of those "never aging" movies. And I was secretly in love with Mickey (what little girl was not?) Frankly, by that time, older movies were airing more often. I just wish the networks would not ban the classics to Pay-TV.
My son who is only 3 years old recently became a National Velvet addict ;-) He often asks me when the "little man" will be on television again.
I am honestly happy that even in the new millennium there are still amazing talents like Mr. Rooney who continue to enjoy generations. I am also extremely proud about seeing him still performing. I admire his energy and endurance with all my heart!

He is such a dynamite person in everything. He could act too! I used to be glued to TV all the time and any time a picture of his was on I had to see it. He could act, sing, dance, did acrobatics played instruments and other things too. He is what I call an All Around Entertainer! Yes, and one of the BEST THERE IS! God Bless Him Always. There will never be another Mickey Rooney!
He was great with Judy Garland too. He must have worked his heart out for all the Musicals they did. I don't know how they endured it. It must have been hell for them. I love those pictures and when I was a kid I wanted to be an entertainer like him too. I never made it but, love to make people laugh, just doing it from where I am.
